Glatfelter Memorial Field

Serving the Columbia, PA community since 1937

Columbia's Hub For Community Engagement

Glatfelter Memorial Field – where the community gathers for events such as youth sports or National Night Out, to walk around the track, have lunch under a great sycamore tree, or enjoy a pick-up game of basketball. This facility has been serving the needs of the community since it was dedicated in 1937 in memory of Lt. Richard Glatfelter.

Please obey all posted signs and rules so we can provide a clean and safe environment for all users.

Glatfelter Memorial Field has two entrances. All trucks and buses must use the west chain link entrance (not the brick entrance). Thank you for protecting our historic brick entrance.

Enjoy Pickleball In Columbia

To utilize our space and provide more activities for the community to enjoy, Glatfelter Memorial Field Trust installed a dual use pickleball court / street hockey rink. Pickleball was invented in 1965 in Washington and became popular in the Pacific Northwest between 1965 & 2020. In 2021 - 2023 the sport was named the fastest growing sport in the US by Sports & Fitness Industry Association. Since the tennis courts were removed many years ago, it’s time to breathe new life into that area and provide a place for more physical activity for all ages.
